OTI’s Warrnambool team assembled

The Warrnambool May Racing Carnival has arrived, and OTI and our owners are ready to make our mark across three fiercely competitive days of racing.

It’s been a happy hunting ground in the past, with the Carnival often providing multiple winners, and we always enjoy reflecting on the Cup winning success with Gallic Chieftain and Tall Ship.

Looking ahead this week, the following runners are likely to represent us.

Andy Win – Tuesday, Race 2 – 3200m Maiden Hurdle

Andy Win is all set to make his jumps debut off numerous encouraging trials and two good flat runs this time in. We and some of our owners remain involved in the gelding with Shane Jackson (will run in Shane’s stable colours having purchased the majority), who has been meticulous in his preparation. Although these are always highly competitive events, Andy Win is in with a great show.

He also holds an acceptance for the Champion Novice Hurdle on Thursday, should Tuesday pan out very well!

Lincoln Rocks – Tuesday, Race 9 – 1700m Handicap

Though he’s not a known first-up performer, Lincoln Rocks is sure to enjoy the soft track and has had a solid grounding with three lead-up trial victories. He’s a city horse that can certainly give some cheek here on return.

Lincoln Rocks wins the Kyneton Cup with Linda Meech in the saddle, who will ride on Tuesday.

Royal Emblem – Wednesday, Race 9 – 2000m BM66

Another with a solid trial grounding, Royal Emblem will kick off his Australian career in with a staying test. Sure to appreciate the surface, he’s in the right hands to be competitive first up and brings good-looking form lines from the UK.

Didn’t Miss Many – Wednesday, Race 7 – 1400m BM70

A strong 2nd in town last start has this grey gelding in good form. He’s fit and will make his own luck on speed, and has shown a particular affinity with this circuit having won here twice. The wide draw doesn’t make life easy though!

Cinturato – Thursday, Race 3 – 1400m 3yo BM70

Always held in high regard, this city performer looks primed for the 3yo event. Courtesy of a good 2nd in town last start, a pleasing tick over trial and the application of headgear, we’re confident he’ll make his presence felt. We’ll know if the wide draw is a good or bad thing come Thursday!

We wish all those heading to the ‘Bool the very best of luck!
