OTI’s Warrnambool Carnival | Day 1 & 2

A carnival many racing enthusiasts wait for commences today, with many exciting races to look forward to.

The Warrnambool Racing Carnival is one of the highlights of the country racing events. This year even more so as they celebrate the 150th running of the Grand Annual Steeplechase, which was first held in 1872. The famous carnival includes 23 flat races and 7 jumps races with some premier international jumps horses included.

OTI Racing has runners competing every day of the Warrnambool Carnival, with everything included from debutants, to hurdlers and a potential Warrnambool Cup contender.

Day 1 – Tuesday, May 3rd

Rider In The Snow

This fellow will make his debut as a jumps horse in Race 3, a Maiden Hurdle over 3200m. With solid flat form and two jumps trials under his belt, his fitness should be spot on. If he’s afforded a nice time in running, he’s in with a real chance.

Day 2 – Wednesday, May 4th

Dyerville

The gelding gets another chance to break his maiden over 1400m in Race 2. He is improving with each race day experience and still has a lot of maturing to do. This run should bring him along again education wise, but we hope he’s taken the necessary improvement to run into the money here.

Toregene

Debut run for Toregene in Race 2, the 1400m Maiden with Jamie Kah on board. The filly has shown good ability at home in two successful trials and is expected to do well in her first race outing. It’s a very competitive field, so she will have to bring her best on the day.
