A pair of promising sons of Waldgeist will keep our Australian-based OTI partners up late on Friday night, with both Annabel’s Ghost and Borgia’s Oak set to step out at Saint-Cloud (FR) for André Fabre.
3yo Annabel’s Ghost, who has proven quite progressive of late, is searching for his third win on the bounce, this time at Class 2 level over 3100m. He looks well-suited to the set weight conditions and has shown increasing versatility through the season. He’ll again be partnered by Arthur Mosse, who is building a nice connection with the gelding.

2yo colt Borgia’s Oak, a recent acquisition, will make his debut in the 2000m unraced event having started to really hit his straps over the past month, which included a pleasing racecourse gallop in company at Chantilly. He is a colt who will undoubtedly be better suited next season when his stamina is tested, but André would not be surprised to see him run a competitive race with Mickael Barzalona on board.

The pair were both bred by well-respected breeders Gestut Ammerland and are by Waldgeist, who won four of France’s top middle-distance Group 1 races, including the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. He continued to improve with age and with his oldest progeny only 3 years old, he is just starting to make his mark as a stallion.
We look forward to seeing how they fare on Friday and wish our connections all the very best of luck.
