OTI’s Latest Acquisition a Leading Chance in Italian Oaks

Unbeaten Italian filly, Auyantepui, makes her OTI debut in the G2 Italian Oaks (2200m) on Sunday.

The striking grey demonstrated her promise at her race debut on May 27. Racing over 2000m at Milano, she breezed by her rivals 200m from the line to win by five lengths. The form through the conditions race was strong, with six previous winners engaged in the event.

It was on the back of this performance that OTI commenced negotiations with the filly’s breeder/owner, Massimo Parri of We Bloodstock.

“After her second win in a Listed race, where she was equally impressive as in her first start, we were delighted to finalise an arrangement and secure a 50% interest.” Terry Henderson of OTI commented. “After the Oaks and possibly the Derby a week later, she will head to Chantilly.”

Auyantepui is beautifully bred. Her sire, Night of Thunder is an exciting young stallion in both Europe and Australia. Her dam, Sopran Enery (by Montjeu) is from one of Italy’s best families. Already a valuable black-type winner, the filly is well positioned to be a desirable broodmare prospect at the conclusion of her racing career.

For now, we wish our fellow partners the best of luck. Sunday promises to be an exciting day for all involved.
