OTI to race Pariah filly with Matt Cumani

Pariah’s popularity at the Magic Millions Sale last month bolstered the credentials of Self Worth, a Pariah / Sense Of Pride yearling filly purchased in 2020.

Pariah made waves at last month’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, with his first crop of yearlings highly sought after. His progeny averaged $136,000 at the sale and were picked up by many of Australia’s leading trainers.

OTI’s General Manager Shayne Driscoll said the team was delighted to see Pariah’s popularity, having purchased Self Worth directly from her breeder last year.

“It was a little different for us to purchase a yearling filly, as we usually stick to proven stock, but she really caught our attention both physically and pedigree wise.

“She’s a beautiful chestnut filly with a strong, athletic body and a smooth, flowing walk. We expect her to be a very precocious two-year-old and have sights set on a spring 2020 debut,” Driscoll said.

Self Worth will begin her education period in the coming weeks, before transferring to Matt Cumani’s Ballarat stables.

Pariah, a son of champion stallion Redoute’s Choice, has been tipped as the up-and-coming sire in Arrowfield Stud’s roster, with many believing he will follow in the footsteps of Not A Single Doubt.

On the filly’s dam side, listed placed Sense of Pride, has already produced three winners including Group 1 placed, Foxborough.
