OTI Racing Weekend Preview – May 23

OTI will be represented by runners on both sides of the world this Saturday. A trio of chances appear at Flemington before the focus shifts to France.

Blue Ocean is set to take his place in a 3yo Handicap over 2000m (Race 5 – 2:05pm). The son of Ocean Park was most impressive breaking his maiden at Werribee over a mile on May 7. Phillip Stokes has been pleased with his work since, as he continues to improve throughout his preparation.

Romancer returns to the track in the Listed Straight Six (Race 6 – 2:45pm). He has been thoroughly prepared for his first up assignment by trainer Grahame Begg. The 6-year-old is also looking to continue his affinity with Flemington, having placed in five of his six starts at the track.

Archie Alexander believes Southern Rock has thrived since his Australian debut at Caulfield. Despite a wide run on that occasion, the horse was strong to the line and has taken good benefit from the experience. Currently accepted to run in an 1800m BM84 (Race 7 – 3:25pm), Southern Rock will be partnered by Jordan Childs and again has drawn the outside barrier.

Mr Satchmo runs over 1900m in the Listed Grand Prix de Bordeaux at Bordeaux Le Bouscat (Race 4 – 9:15pm AEST). The Antoine de Watrigant trained 5-year-old will be having his first run since appearing at the Saudi Cup meeting in Doha on February 22. The team is very confident of his chances.

Best of luck to all of our partners!
