OTI Racing Weekend Preview – Australia

A trio of Group class performers contest races in both Victoria & Queensland for OTI and our partners on Saturday.

An impressive winner at Group 3 level last start, Le Juge (barrier 8) is aiming for back to back wins in the grade. Taking his place in the G3 Tattersall’s Cup at Eagle Farm (Race 5 – 2:02pm), the 7-year-old will again have the services of Michael Cahill.

Le Juge has continued to please trainer Chris Waller since his victory in the G3 Chairman’s Handicap at Doomben on May 30. Whilst he stretches out to the 2400m for the first time in his career, he continues to race consistently and with the right run, Waller is confident he will again figure in the finish.

After finishing under three lengths from the winner in the G1 Australasian Oaks at Morphettville on May 2, Selica returns to Victoria to race at Moonee Valley.

A talented filly who demonstrated her class when narrowly denied in the G3 Auraria Stakes, Selica (barrier 3) has enjoyed a freshen up since returning from South Australia. Phillip Stokes believes the 1200m race for 3yo fillies (R6 – 3:35pm) is a perfect lead up to the Rivette Series Final over 1400m in three weeks.

Harbour Views lines up in a 2040m Hcp (Race 8 – 4:50pm) for trainer Matthew Williams. Arriving into the race third up, after finishing 3rd in the G3 R A Lee Stakes (1600m) last start, Williams has been impressed with what he has seen from the son of Le Havre in his work at Warrnambool over recent weeks.

Regular rider John Allen has again been engaged to partner the progressive 5-year-old. Drawn favourably in barrier 6, he should prove hard to beat.

Best of luck to all involved across the weekend!
