OTI Racing | Weekend Preview | November 5, 2021

We hope to close out a memorable Cup week in good style this weekend, with the OTI silks on show in Victoria and Queensland.

SATURDAY 6th November

Eagle Farm

Current Track Rating: Good

Lady Laguna

Lady Laguna, despite the wide gate, is expected to run well following a promising trial at Randwick last week. This filly showed that she is capable of being competitive in some early two-year-old races.

Race 1 – 1:05 pm | 1000m 2yo Hcp | T: Annabel Neasham | J: Ryan Maloney 56kg | Barrier 10 | Saddlecloth 5

Stuck With You

Following a good third last start at Randwick, Stuck With You was moved up to Brisbane. He looks very well-placed in this field.

Race 3 – 2:25 pm | 1840m BM75 | T: Matthew Dunn | J: Baylee Nothdurft 57.5kg | Barrier 5 | Saddlecloth 4

Stuck With You winning at Doomben.

Flemington

Current Track Rating: Good

Hezashocka

Hezashocka, while the outsider of the small field, has pleased Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr since his arrival in the stable. It’s a huge jump up in class, however Mick thinks that he is well-placed to be in the finish.

Race 2 – 1:15 pm | 2600m Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes | T: Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr) | J: Luke Currie 54kg | Barrier 2 | Saddlecloth 6

Hezashocka winning a Group 2 in New Zealand.

Chaillot

Chaillot is on the back-up in this Group 3 event. The 1400m is more to her liking than the 1600m of the Cantala last Saturday. She seems to have come through that race well and looks a good winning chance.

Race 7 – 4:30 pm | 1400m Group 3 Chatham Stakes | T: Archie Alexander | J: Declan Bates 54.5kg | Barrier 4 | Saddlecloth 11

Declan Bates returns to the mounting yard on Chaillot after winning the Rokon Plate at Flemington Racecourse on September 23, 2020 in Flemington, Australia. (Brett Holburt/Racing Photos).

SUNDAY 7th November

Ararat

Current Track Rating: Soft

Seawhatyouthink

Following his strong win in the Mortlake Cup, Seawhatyouthink looks to find himself in a suitable race again. Matt Williams believes that he can back-up well and be in the finish here with the light weight.

Race 6 – 4:15 pm | 2000m Ararat Gold Cup | T: Matthew Williams | J: Dean Yendall 54.5kg | Barrier 7 | Saddlecloth 5

Seawhatyouthink (FR) ridden by Zac Spain wins the Oz Equipment Rentals BM64 Handicap at Geelong Racecourse on September 05, 2021 in Geelong, Australia. (Reg Ryan/Racing Photos).

Benalla

Current Track Rating: Soft

Eidolon

Eidolon is out to break his maiden in what looks a suitable race second-up. With the low draw and blinkers going on, he’s expected to be very competitive.

Race 3 – 2:45 pm | 1412m Maiden | T: Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young | J: Matthew Cartwright 58kg | Barrier 2 | Saddlecloth 8

Eidolon when purchased in New Zealand.

We wish all of our connections the very best of luck over the weekend!
