OTI Racing Weekend Preview | February 12, 2021

On the back of two winners at the end of the week, it is a quiet weekend for OTI and our partners, with just two runners featuring in Australia and France.

Flemington

At Headquarters, Doroza steps out in a Benchmark 84 over 2000m (Race 4 – 2:05 pm). The Medaglia D’oro gelding has come through his disappointing last start in good order, a run that we’re putting a line through as things didn’t go his way. Matt Cumani reports that he is exceptionally well at home and goes into the race in great shape. Despite the competitive field, we’re expecting him to put in a big performance and hopefully repeat his last win at Flemington. Fred Kersley rides from barrier four.

Chantilly

On Saturday night in France, Demeter races in a 1300m 4yo Class 3 (Race 2 – 9:35 pm AEDT), in what will be her final race for OTI before she heads to the sales next week. The mare is ready for the run after she was scratched at the barriers last start due to an unlucky mishap where she lost her shoes. Trainer Edouard Monfort commented that her work has been excellent in preparation for the event, which looks to be an ideal race for her. Having placed at Chantilly before, we know that she likes the track, and we expect her to be hard to beat. Jockey Marie Velon is booked to ride from barrier 4.

Wishing connections the best of luck!
