OTI Racing Weekend Preview | December 18, 2020

As we near the end of the year, it is a relatively quiet weekend for OTI and our partners, with four runners representing the team around Australia on Saturday.

At Colac, Raffish returns to the races for Archie Alexander. The 3yo Free Eagle gelding contests a 1600m Maiden (Race 2 – 1:46 pm) with Neil Farley riding from barrier 2. Whilst the trip is on the shorter side, the stable is delighted with his condition and we expect to see him hitting the line well.

Milestone races at Randwick in a Benchmark 88 over 2000m (Race 4 – 2:25 pm) for Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young. He is off the back of a promising performance at Pakenham a fortnight ago and has been working superbly at home according to the stable. The race will serve as a lead up to the Shoot Out at Eagle Farm which will hopefully enable him to secure a place in the $1 million Magic Millions Trophy. Jay Ford rides from barrier 9.

Le Juge steps out in an Open Handicap over 2020m at Doomben (Race 4 – 3:12 pm AEDT). Chris Waller is pleased with his progress this preparation and believes that he will relish the rise in distance. While he’ll have to overcome the tricky barrier 10, we believe he’ll be put in a competitive effort and will finish off strongly. Larry Cassidy takes the ride.

At Flemington, Hasstobegood runs in a Fillies and Mares Benchmark 78 over 1600m (Race 6 – 4:00 pm). Grahame Begg commented that she galloped strongly during the week and indicated that he couldn’t be happier with her going into the race. With suitable conditions and Jordan Childs riding from barrier 8, she should put in a strong effort.

Best of luck to connections!
