OTI out to maintain momentum on Day 2 of The Championships

Following on from last week’s remarkable day at Randwick, we are looking forward to what Day 2 of The Championships holds for our racing partners.

A trio of OTI runners will contest the G1 Sydney Cup (3200m) with Gallic Chieftain, Azuro and Corncrake all arriving into their autumn grand finals.

Gallic Chieftain (barrier 7) is on the back up from his solid 4th the G2 Chairman’s Quality (2600m) last Saturday.

Azuro (barrier 12) is a three time winner over the distance and is expected to be most competitive.

Corncrake (barrier 1) is a stayer of the future and has done a terrific job in his first Australian preparation. He’s racing out of his class, so a race at this level will provide a good indication of his future potential.

Gailo Chop (barrier 9) is set to take his place in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) with Adam Hyeronimus to ride. The nine-year-old worked well during the week. This race will bring him on for the Group 3 next week.

In the G3 Easter Cup (2000m) at Caulfield, Inverloch (barrier 6) is looking to continue his excellent form this preparation. A winner at the track on March 14, he is expected to be a winning chance again.

Haky (barrier 11) lines up alongside Inverloch and will derive further benefit from the race.

All the best of luck to connections!
