OTI Gazette | Issue 132

In this edition of the Gazette, we have a chat with highly respected international agent Emmanuel de Seroux, who has been a key part of OTI’s operation in Europe.

We discuss the importance of experienced advice when buying horses, assess our runners over the weekend, check in on some retired stars and introduce a promising 2yo colt with Harry Eustace/Annabel & Rob Archibald.

CHAT WITH EMMANUEL DE SEROUX

“In 1981 I met Bruce McNall and he was very keen to buy proven horses. Initially we started buying in Europe to race where he was based in California and got a lot of momentum going. We won the Arc de Triomphe twice, the Arlington Million, the Japan Cup and a lot of great stakes races. It was a beautiful time for us.”

IMPORTANCE OF EXPERIENCED ADVICE

There’s no doubt that we have our challenges in racing. However, Australia remains one of the most lucrative places to race horses, with high stakes returns and an industry that is open to all. Having access to people with the experience of Emmanuel certainly helps the OTI team maintain a realistic approach to racing’s future.”
