Interview with Ethan Brown

“I grew up in Alice Springs. I was ready for work and struggled to get a job anywhere because I was too young, so I got a job out at the stables working before and after school. When I was 15, I made the move to Melbourne to become an apprentice jockey.”

Applying Science to the Care of the Racehorse

“The message was unmistakable: for racing to maintain its social licence, it must win the confidence of these swingers by demonstrating that racing and other equine activities are responsible sports that genuinely care for its horses. While those within the industry know this to be true, it will be public perception that ultimately shapes opinion and, in turn, government policy.”
