Menzies an interesting Australia debutant

We’re very much looking forward to seeing Menzies, a 3yo colt by Coolmore Stud sire Australia, head to the races for the first time when he debuts at Kempton Park on Wednesday.

Menzies was purchased from the first Goffs Classic Breeze-Up Sale last year, and he’s done plenty to please us since arriving with Harry Eustace in Newmarket. Harry has been very happy with what he’s seen at home, and the colt’s natural speed gives us confidence he won’t be out of place on debut around Kempton’s sharp all-weather track.

Like most of our young middle-distance horses, we do expect Menzies to improve for the experience and a step out in trip, but a positive performance will lay a foundation for an exciting year ahead. To view the full field and race details, click here.

Menzies continues a naming theme for us at OTI, as we already race another talented son of Australia named after a former Australian Prime Minister in Deakin, a nod to Alfred Deakin. With Menzies (a nod to Robert Menzies) following in those footsteps, we’re hopeful the success can follow the theme as well!

We’re excited to see how Menzies measures up for his owners on race day and look forward to learning more about him as his racing career gets underway.
