Mantastic returns to racing

Mantastic makes his much-anticipated return to the races tomorrow, after an almost 12-month-spell. The seven-year-old will contest a 1410m Handicap at Flemington for the Chris Waller stable.

The Fastnet Rock gelding was in career-best form during autumn 2019 when he won the Listed C S Hayes at Morphettville, placed second in the Listed Golden Mile, and notched two wins at Flemington on Saturdays in May.

However, his campaign was halted after a tendon injury in spring 2019. Mantastic subsequently spent eight months in Warrnambool, where he completed a rehabilitation program under the care of Matthew Williams. Williams’ constant attention saw the horse make a full recovery, and he returned to Chris Waller’s Flemington stables earlier this year.

Since then, he has eased back into work and has made terrific progress. Waller was pleased with Mantastic’s recent trials and is excited for his spring preparation.

After a long road to recovery, we are looking forward to seeing Mantastic step out at Flemington, and wish all connections the best of luck!
