Le Juge set to resume at Chantilly

The quality French gallopers are starting emerge after the largely dormant winter period. OTI races a number of horses in France with a view to campaigning them in Australia at some point.

Buoyed by a fantastic run from Casterton at Compaigne on Monday and recent win of Tom Melbourne’s sister, Araaja, OTI are hopeful of a prosperous ‘le printeps’ (spring) racing season.

Le Juge, a french based son of well-known sire Dansili, is set to resume at Chantilly on Wednesday morning (12.20AM AEDST). Heading into his 4YO season both OTI and trainer Andre Fabre, are excited about the road ahead.

OTI purchased Le Juge from Coolmore in 2016 with a view of eventually bringing him to Australia to race. Impeccably bred, the entire is out of the Stakes-winning mare Mambo Light and his family is littered with Group 1 successes.

Stakes placed over 2100M at Le Croise-Laroche prior to a spell, Le Juge looks well-placed to rise through the grades over the coming months. Fabre sees the first up assignment over 1800M as ‘the run he needs to have’ to bring him on for bigger goals down the track. Additionally, the track at Chantilly forecast to be quite heavy which doesn’t play to Le Juge’s strengths.

Coolmore, OTI and Fabre have always been of the opinion this entire’s best days would be as a four-year-old and beyond. Tuesday is a pipe-opener to what should be a most exciting year for Le Juge’s owners.
