Kiwi Fillies Arrive in Australia with Spring in Mind

OTI has enjoyed success at the highest level with New Zealand-bred fillies in recent years. Whilst Group 1 winner Aloisia is undoubtedly a highlight, So Far Sokool, Hasstobegood and most recently Selica, have all proven themselves to be stakes quality.

With flights across the Tasman recommencing, Karaka Million 3yo Classic placegetter, Hasstobegood, and unraced 2-year-old filly, Meltdown, have now safely arrived in Australia.

Hasstobegood joins the Pinecliff operation of Grahame Begg after previously being prepared by Roger James. Running a bold 3rd in the Karaka feature in January, we are excited to watch her progress over the coming months.

Meltdown was an impressive winner of an Avondale trial over 800m. Running to the line strongly, she was able to take out the trial in one of the faster times of the day.

As a filly we expect to see the best of over a mile it was very encouraging to see. After an inspection and advice from our New Zealand agent, Phill Cataldo, we had no hesitation in acquiring her.

The daughter of Showcasing makes her way to trainer, Phillip Stokes. Given the benefit of time to mature in New Zealand, she will commence a preparation targeted at fillies feature races.
