Following John Hammond’s announcement that he will retire as a trainer, we are delighted that he will take up the role of European Representative with OTI.
John is one of the most respected trainers in Europe having trained two Arc winners and multiple Group 1 winners throughout the world. Being an Englishman based in Chantilly France, his experience will be invaluable in further improving the acquisition and management functions of OTI’s operation.
John and Terry have also discussed the growing opportunities that exist by introducing Europeans to Australian racing where the prizemoney, by European standards, is exceptional. It is exciting that John will now be part of OTI’s growing global presence.
Before John hands in his licence, however, he will try to add to his Group One tally with Haky, a 6yo gelding who arrives at Werribee quarantine this weekend in preparation for a spring assault.
