Well-known for their carnivals and festivals, Ireland plays host to the Listowel Races Harvest Festival this week. A strong mix of racing on the flat, over the jumps and off-field activities will keep racegoers busy through the week, but our attention will be firmly fixed on Highland Bling’s presence in the Memorial Handicap on Tuesday.
Following a forgive performance at Royal Ascot, Highland Bling has put together strong back-to-back showings at Galway and Gowran Park, finishing a close 2nd on both occasions.
Highland Bling wins at Fairyhouse (IRE) in June 2024.
It is clear stamina is his strength, so the step out to 2855m looks a very suitable one. Initially lumped with the top weight, Keithen Kennedy, who has ridden the horse before will claim a valuable 7lb’s to get Highland Bling into the race near the bottom of the weights. Importantly, the Harrington team has been delighted how he’s done in the month between runs.

An honest, consistent and improving gelding, Highland Bling would be a deserving winner should he get his head in front during the Listowel Races Harvest Festival.
