Thanos is a three-year-old stayer beginning to make his way through the grades for Archie Alexander at Ballarat.
After two starts as an immature two-year-old, Thanos progressed in a four-start, three-year-old spring/summer campaign through November to January. His win at Bendigo second-up was most encouraging, as he showed the tactical speed to take up a position in running, as well as a turn of foot over the concluding stages. Stepped up to city class in his subsequent two starts, Thanos had no luck in either event. On both occasions, his effort was better than his finishing position suggests.
Thanos was given a long spell to further mature. He has come back in great order and following his first-up run, where he finished 5th, Archie will now step the horse up in distance. We expect to see the best of him once he is up over 1600m. This son of Mossman has further victories in store.
