3YO Filly with Credentials to Excel
Standing just over 16 hands, this well-developed now 3yo filly is an athlete, as outlined by Phill Cataldo in the video below (where you can also see her two trials).
The filly’s sire, Belardo currently sits 5th on the NZ sires’ premiership (ahead of Per Incanto). A Champion racehorse himself, he has already produced two Group 1 victors and is presenting as a prolific sire of winners (2nd most winners in NZ this season). He’s also the sire of impressive OTI city winner Skippers Canyon. The female side of the pedigree is solid and features quality broodmare sires in the first three generations.
M’Lady Rose has completed 3 weeks of pre-training in New Zealand and is ready to commence her racing career in Australia with Tony & Calvin McEvoy. Given she has had the benefit of a trial campaign earlier in the year, we are confident that she will quickly make her way through maiden class to city level and beyond. On pedigree and type, this filly should be at her best between 1600m and 2000m.
Both OTI and the McEvoy stable have had great success with fillies and mares that excel on the track and go on to become valuable broodmares with the likes of Lady Laguna, Femminile, Aloisia for OTI and Sunlight, Coco Sun, and Pretty Brazen for the McEvoy’s.
