High Bridge to the Mornington Cup

The “Festival of Racing” continues with Victoria’s Peninsula playing host to one of the most popular race days of the year with Mornington Cup Day, featuring the $350,000 Listed Mornington Cup over 2400m. A race that gains a ballot-free entry into the 2019 Caulfield Cup, OTI is vying for the prestigious race this weekend with High Bridge as our key runner.

Having accepted for this Saturday’s Mornington Cup, High Bridge will contest the feature race of the day making the trip down from Sydney in search of good ground. Due to substantial rain in Sydney over the last week, trainer Chris Waller will take advantage of the firmer Victorian track and give High Bridge the opportunity to earn his place in the field and a potential place in this year’s Caulfield Cup.

Also joining High Bridge at Mornington is Lindsay Park trained Fastnet Tempest, who runs first-up this campaign in the Listed Hareeba Stakes. A son of Fastnet Rock, Fastnet Tempest is a consistent performer having won and placed in a number of Listed races in recent times, including a second place in the Sale Cup last preparation.

We look forward to Mornington’s biggest day on the autumn racing calendar and hope to see our OTI runners putting their best hoof forward!
