Harbour Views – The Gift That Keeps On Giving!

OTI’s adoration for Harbour Views as a racehorse is well documented. It is the story of a horse with excellent quality, but who was injury-riddled early in his career in the UK. He was brought to Australia as an unraced proposition, hoping that a significant change in his training regime could see him reach his potential. A terrific debut winner at the Warrnambool Carnival, he would go on to win his first five races for Matthew Williams. He raced against some of the country’s best at black-type level, placing three times in Group company and winning the Listed The Sofitel.

After his racing career, our association with Harbour Views has continued to pay dividends. He led us to Docklands, a half-brother by a nondescript stallion purchased at a yearling sale that has successfully raced at the highest level worldwide and is now a Group 1 winner at Royal Ascot. Harbour Views also led us to his half-sister Ickymasho, a Grade 2 winner in the United States, purchased for the breeding opportunity she would present.

Ickymasho is now five years into her breeding program and producing quality horses for the races. Her second foal, Isneauville (by Le Havre), is a winner already from just three starts as a three-year-old. Her third foal, Waybreaker (by Galiway), was a most impressive winner on debut as a two-year-old on August 3 at Deauville. Leading from start to finish over the 1500m at Deauville, a race which historically is a strong indicator of a horse’s potential, was most encouraging.

Waybreakers wins at Deauville on August 2, 2025.

Ickymasho’s next foal, a yearling by Australia, is scheduled to go through the August Yearling Sale at Arqana in mid-August for his breeding owners. He will surely be popular as a half-brother to Waybreaker and closely related to Docklands and Harbour Views.

Significantly, Ickymasho is again in foal to Galiway, so fingers are crossed that Waybreaker can reach a high level in the coming 12-18 months to add to this already strong pedigree. A pedigree that gained relevance to OTI with Harbour Views.
