Gailo Chop returns to the races at Rosehill

A previous winner of the G1 Ranvet Stakes, Gailo Chop makes his return on the corresponding weekend two years later in the G3 Doncaster Prelude (1500m).

The evergreen nine-year-old was last seen running a brave 2nd in the G1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot on December 7.

Trainer Matt Williams has been delighted with his work coming in to another autumn campaign. With a proven appreciation for affected going, this race (5:50pm AEDT) was identified as the ideal starting point. Glen Boss (barrier eleven) takes the reins.

Earlier in the program, Quick Thinker (barrier two) will face eight fellow three-year-olds over 2000m in the G2 Tulloch Stakes (Race 3 – 1:50pm AEDT).

The G3 Ming Dynasty winner now has the benefit of three runs back and appears ready to put in a peak performance. His last start effort in running 3rd behind a pair of Group 1 fillies in Funstar & Probabeel was very encouraging.

Night’s Watch (barrier ten) also races over 2000m, contesting the G3 Neville Sellwood (Race 4 – 2:30pm AEDT). Trainer Chris Waller feels the time is now right to step the son of Redwood up in distance after an improved effort in the G2 Ajax Stakes two weeks ago.

Haky (barrier five) resumes in the Listed Golden Mile at Bendigo (Race 8 – 4:50pm AEDT). As a genuine stayer who will continue improve with racing, Archie Alexander has seen enough in his recent work to suggest he will be finding the line strongly late.

In Queensland, Le Juge (barrier ten) is back to his favourite track when he races at Doomben. A four-time winner from seven starts over the course, he contests a 2200m Open Handicap (Race 3 – 2:02pm AEDT).

Best of luck to all connections!
