From Newmarket to Pakenham

A diversity of OTI horses will line up at race tracks across the globe this weekend.

Early Saturday morning, an exciting 2yo filly will make her debut in the United Kingdom. Stormy Road, a half-sister of this year’s Mornington Cup Winner, Kings Will Dream, has made quite the impression on her trainer Luca Cumani during the early stages of her career. The field in tonight’s affair looks to have depth, so our partners will get their first indication of Stormy Road’s true ability.

Joining Stormy Road at Newmarket will be Fairlight. This son of Lope de Vega will be looking to build on his last start, where he finished in the placings. In a field of only 3, he’ll get every chance to break his maiden.

Mantastic is set to return to Caulfield on Saturday afternoon, the scene of his last two near misses.  This highly talented 4yo gelding is yet to break through for Darren Weir in Australia but has caught the eye of many.  He’ll need to overcome another wide barrier, but he’ll be given every chance by the inform appreciate Ethan Brown.

Up in North Queensland, Tucano will contest the feature race at Townsville. This fellow has thrived since moving to Tony Haydon’s stable on the Sunshine Coast.  Following a photo finish in his last start, he’ll be hoping to go one better. The 2000m should be ideal and the stable believe he’ll be in the finish yet again.

Another OTI debutant is set to line up this weekend in France. The Nicolas Clement-trained Peronne will contest a 1200m Maiden at Deauville on Saturday night. Peronne is a half-brother to G1 winner, Pornichet. Nicolas has reported that the colt has come on very well during his time in Chantilly and is looking forward to seeing him debut.

Saturday night will be rounded out with Dark Pearl running at Ascot in a 2400m Class 3 Handicap. After not handling a firm track in his last start, he’ll be looking to bounce back and tomorrow’s night’s affair looks the perfect race.

On Sunday, Tristano will be seeking to make it two in a row when he heads to Pakenham for the 2200m Winter Synthetic Stayers Series Final. This gelding enjoys the synthetic surface and looks to be the one to beat.
