Four Runners in Four States for OTI This Weekend

Heading back to the track that brought his connections his first Australian win, we kick off the weekend this evening with San Remo at Cranbourne’s twilight meeting. He continues to impress Archie Alexander with his work ethic, running tonight at his most favourable distance over 3000m. We are hoping to see him finish off well in what has now become a tight field of six runners.

To Saturday we have Scherzoso heading interstate to contest a BM82 over 2100m at Gawler. The drawcard for Purcell to head to South Australia was the good barrier draw, a jockey claim and a step up in distance. All elements presenting in favour of the horse, we hope to see him right in the finish.

Dusk Falls heads to Randwick, stepping up in distance over the 2400m journey with trainer Matthew Smith securing Victorian front running jockey Linda Meech the ride. Dusk Falls has thrived since his last start, getting fitter by the day and will ultimately appreciate the softer going on offer at Randwick.

Sunday sees Shakopee step out on his home track for OTI at the Sunshine Coast. Trainer Tony Haydon is pleased with the horse’s progress and is looking forward to getting a run under the horse’s belt. Heavily handicapped at 61.5kgs and drawing wide will see Shakopee settle toward the rear of the field and work his way home. A quirky horse whose manners have improved race day, we hope to see him hit the line strongly.
