Five Wins from Seven Starts for Le Juge This Campaign

Le Juge’s winning streak continued last weekend, taking out the Class 6 over 1600m at Eagle Farm for Chris Waller and the team at his Queensland base. Putting together a string of quality runs in Australia, Le Juge has made it 5 wins from his most recent 7 starts and is primed for the upcoming Winter Carnival.

Slowly out of the gates, jockey Robbie Fradd found himself a little further back than anticipated, however timed the run perfectly with Le Juge finding the right gaps in the field and powering home to win by over a length carrying the top weight of 59.5kg.

After seeing how well the horse has pulled up from his run, Waller may elect to keep him in Queensland to contest a quality race in the carnival, looking to possibly step him up in class to Listed level over the 1800m distance. Racing at a higher level will allow Le Juge to be extremely competitive with a drop in the weights.

Reflecting on this preparation, Waller has been able to build a level of confidence in the horse that has enabled him to continue a brilliant preparation. OTI look forward to seeing him progress into the remainder of the 2018/19 season!
