Five representatives will step out for OTI today

With two wins already on the board for OTI and our partners this weekend, we look forward to another spectacular day of racing ahead this Sunday. Five talented gallopers will step out in the OTI colours this ANZAC Day across Victoria and New South Wales.

Flemington

Lightly raced seven-year-old Amade kicks off ANZAC Day proceedings in a Quality Handicap over 2600m (Race 1 – 1:00 pm). The Phillip Stokes-trained galloper was most impressive fresh last fortnight over 2000m, working home into fourth behind three quality types at Caulfield. He’s drawn the widest of all runners in barrier 7 but has the tactical versatility to land wherever Ben Allen desires. He has continued to improve since his first run in almost two years and will relish the Flemington circuit.

Furioso lines up in the 2800m VRC St Ledger (Race 6 – 3:55 pm). The Matt Cumani-trained gelding has drawn barrier five and will be ridden by Jamie Kah. Matt has been impressed by the three-year-olds progress since finishing fifth in a competitive edition of the Listed Galilee Final over 1800m last fortnight and expects him to produce an improved effort here third up.

Haky rounds out the day for OTI at Flemington when he steps out in a competitive 1700m edition of the Les Carlyon Handicap (Race 7 – 4:30 pm). Trainer Archie Alexander has been pleased by his work in recent weeks and can’t fault the horse’s condition ahead of his first-up assignment. Jamie Kah has been booked to ride from barrier 12 and will give our galloper every chance to run on strongly.

Gosford

The Kris Lees-trained My Swashbuckler gets in well at the weights in this 1900m Class 1 and Maiden Plate (Race 2 – 1:39 pm). His work during the week gives us confidence that he will prove competitive, dropping back in class third up. The talented gelding can make his presence felt here under Aaron Bullock despite drawing out wide in barrier 7.

Randwick-Kensington

Resuming gelding Rider in the Snow will represent the Kris Lees stable in an 1800m Benchmark 88 affair (Race 5 – 3:40 pm). The lightly-raced French import has continued to improve in condition and is working well at home ahead of his return. This run will bring him on nicely for the remainder of the campaign, and we expect him to settle back from barrier one before working home well under Kerrin McEvoy.

Good luck to all of our partners and connections!
