Emilia Jane ready for her Australian debut

Despite not getting any favours with the barrier draw, Emilia Jane could make her much anticipated Australian debut at Kembla Grange on Saturday.

Sourced following an eye-catching 2nd on debut at Te Rapa in January, Emilia Jane has continued to display that same promise with Joe Pride at his Warwick Farm base. The mare has had two quiet trials this time in, the latest of those at Hawkesbury where she closed off well into 2nd.

Joe said recently in an update to owners “I’ve been very pleased with her progress this time in. She’s come a long way since last preparation from a physical point of view and is coping with it all well. She’s a lovely filly and we’re looking forward to running her.”

Emilia Jane has drawn barrier 14 in a field of 12 + 6 emergencies in the 1200m Maiden at Kembla Grange on Saturday (Race 7 – 4:05pm). To view full details, click here.

Given the draw, the form will be assessed before a decision is made on whether the mare takes her place or not. The 1300m Maiden at Hawkesbury on August 22 could suit as an alternative option.

Having trialled up well and afforded the necessary time to mature, we’re excited to see what Emilia Jane can achieve in her first Australian racing preparation.
