Docklands Travel Diary | Chapter 5

With great excitement Sea King and I, together with our Japanese neighbour, ventured to Moonee Valley this morning to have a practice gallop. Although it was an early morning, there was no shortage of press and spectators there to see how we fared.

I felt quite relaxed and took in the new environment without concern. Once out on the track, I led Sea King in the gallop and from the 800m mark we stepped up the pace. I felt strong throughout and I’m sure the boss (still in the UK) would have been happy when he analysed the video and results from the ‘onboard’ computer. Blake Shinn, who sat on my back for the first time, seemed equally impressed.

Tomorrow we will have an easy day and my next important piece of work will be on Wednesday when I have a jump from the barriers with Blake aboard again.

I can’t wait for the big day.
