Docklands set for toughest test yet in G1 Juddmonte

After reaching new heights with a Group 1 2nd -placing in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, Docklands will face an even tougher test on Wednesday in the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes. In what is shaping up as one of the races of the season, we’re incredibly excited to see how Docklands fares. The form around our entire this season is terrific and shows he’s deserving of his place in a field of this quality. Having finished 2nd on all three occasions this year, the three victors have all gone on to taste further success. Quddwah is a subsequent Group 2 winner, Caramelito a subsequent Group 3 winner and Charyn, who won the Queen Anne, has since won another Group 1 in France. Wednesday’s race will be the first time Docklands is tested beyond a mile, which is something trainer Harry Eustace has looked forward to trying for some time now. Whilst he’s shown a great affinity with the Ascot straight, a strong tempo and a good quality racing surface should give him every chance. It’s well documented that a tilt at the Group 1 Cox Plate is on the agenda later in the year, and a competitive showing in the Juddmonte shapes as an ideal pointer as to whether it’s the correct goal or not. We’re incredibly excited to watch Docklands in action at York and wish his connections the very best of luck.
