Things didn’t go to plan for our star performer Docklands in his attempt to repeat his G1 Queen Anne Stakes success at Royal Ascot three weeks ago. It was just a blip in what has otherwise been an exceptional and honest career, so we’re confident he will pick himself back up again and power on to his next assignment.
Harry has been very happy with his work since. He’s been back to his usual self and is feeling fresh, well, and ready to crack on towards the G2 Summer Mile Stakes this Saturday at Ascot.

The Group 2 event is open to horses aged four and older and features a guaranteed prize purse of £165,000. While not as strong as some of Docklands’ previous assignments, the main danger, Group 2 winner More Thunder, will be hard to beat. The 121 rater finished 2nd in the Queen Anne and 2nd behind Notable Speech in the Lockinge Stakes a month prior.
Later in the year, his main aim will be to head back to the lucrative G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes once again, a race in which he ran a strong 4th last year. His stepping stones between now and that race will depend on his performance this weekend, with options across England, France, and even Canada potentially on the agenda.
But before all that, it’s back to Ascot this Saturday, where there’s no reason why he can’t be very competitive.
