Dazzling NZ stayer joins OTI

When renowned bloodstock advisor Phill Cataldo recommends a horse immediately after their debut race, we know that we have something potentially exciting on our hands.

Such is the case with the beautifully bred 3yo Contributer gelding named Mista Razzledazzle

Following our assessment of the horse, we agreed with Phill, and quickly sought the expertise of Lindsey Smith, who concurred and will train him from his base in Warrnambool.

Still green and unfurnished, we believe Mista Razzledazzle has the raw ability to become a most serious racehorse. A horse that can run wide on a tight track and still come home in the last 600 metres in 34.3s and the last 400 metres in 22.9 seconds, clearly has superior natural ability.

Well balanced, boasting a good walk and a wide girth, Mista Razzledazzle has all the qualities that make a racehorse.

While he is a most attractive type with a prominent white blaze, he has the pedigree to back it up. He is out of the stakes-placed mare, Grandissima (by Savabeel), who won at 1950m and 2000m. She is also the half-sister to the Group One winner, The Mighty Lions, and her page features many highly credentialled black-type performers. Overall, he is supported by a strong female side of the family who are proven at 2000m plus.

His sire, Contributer’s oldest progeny are now just three-year-old’s and he has already produced many black-type performers, including this year’s Group One Randwick Guineas winner, Lion’s Roar, who also is featured in the second dam of Grandissima.

We are excited to embark on a promising journey with Mista Razzledazzle, and in the hands of Lindsey Smith, we expect he will quickly work his way through the classes and reach city grade early in his career.
