Chasing a third straight win with No Fuss

No Fuss returns to Sandown on Wednesday chasing a 3rd straight victory. With the exciting four-year-old yet to taste defeat on Australian shores, we’re hoping he can extend that record with little fuss.

Brought to Australia in April 2024 as a developing three-year-old, No Fuss has been handled expertly by the Tony & Calvin McEvoy team since his arrival. Indeed, the horse was recently inspected by a contingent of OTI owners and he presented in outstanding order, generating numerous ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ by the adoring crowd. He stood tall and proud, with great presence.

No Fuss on parade at the recent Ballarat stable tour.

Winning on his Australian debut at Ballarat in July, owners required patience before seeing him again in late February. That patience was brilliantly rewarded with a performance that can only be described as outstanding in the circumstances, having missed the start hopelessly but finishing powerfully to grab the lead on the line.

No Fuss wins impressively at Sandown last start.

John Allen, who completed all the early education work on No Fuss since his Ballarat arrival and won on him on his Aust debut, returns to the saddle for Wednesday’s race. Harry Coffey, who competently deputised at his last outing, can consider himself most unfortunate.

From barrier 6 in the 10-horse field, we hope No Fuss can jump with the field this time and take up a handier position in running, leaving himself less to do late in what is a higher-quality affair, now up to the Benchmark 70 level.

No Fuss gives every indication of being a progressive talent and we hope to see that again on display this Wednesday.
