In a very tough European Horse-In-Training market, we’re delighted to have secured Birdie Time, a 3yo filly who put it all together last start on better ground, running away an impressive winner. She conceded weight to many of her male counterparts and in fresh news, the 3rd-placed horse has since won its next start by 2+ lengths.
Birdie Time has taken a good step forward with every start at 3 and is now rated 80. She’s a very uncomplicated filly that’s been competitive from 2000m-2400m on good to soft ground, however it’s clear she relished a good galloping surface in her victory (shown below).
Birdie Time is a nice, scopey filly who moves well and has been stamped by her sire line. She is by Sea The Moon, a dominant Group 1-winning son of Sea The Stars who has sired 35 stakes winners, 5 of those being Group 1 winners that includes Caulfield Cup victor Durston. Her dam is also by Cape Cross, one of the most impactful broodmare sires of the century.
Birdie Time will be released from quarantine in the middle of July to join Ben, Will & JD Hayes. The Hayes boys have continued the outstanding success of Lindsay Park post David’s exit to Hong Kong, comfortably leading the Victorian Trainers Premiership this season. They’ve also had terrific success with imported gallopers over the past two decades, winning many of our best races.
With the progressive nature of the filly and her lovely staying pedigree, she’s a very valued addition to our middle-distance ranks and we’re excited to see her career unfold with Lindsay Park.
