Australian race debut for Chimed

The flashy 4yo from the UK will make his debut for new connections in Australia in the upcoming days, after completing three jumpouts in preparation. He has presented as very strong and willing throughout his work and hopefully we can see that in his first Australian start.

Trainer Sam Freedman said after his last jumpout at Woolamai: “He’s worked really nice here this morning with the blinkers on. The horse that won the trial was a fairly high rated horse so that gives a bit of confidence. He finished very strong over the line, Jamie Mott almost couldn’t pull him up. I’m pretty confident going to the races with him now, I think he’ll do well.”

Last jumpout at Woolamai with Jamie Mott, finishing 2nd (purple silks, white sleeves).

The son of Frankel has had six career starts in the UK before joining Sam & Anthony Freedman in Australia. Not yet a winner, he placed second on three occasions and has shown plenty of the talent required to be a successful stayer.

The gelding has a few possible race options for his Australian debut, including Pakenham on Thursday night, Geelong on Saturday or Mornington early next week.

We wish all connections the best of luck for his Australian debut!
