An Attack On The Heath

Twilight racing returns to the Caulfield Heath on Wednesday and OTI will feature four talented horses who we hope can be successful for their owners.

Lightly-raced Noble Steed will step up to 1600m in his second race start for Anthony & Sam Freedman. Although drawn in barrier 11 (may come into 9), he’s an exciting young stayer in the making.

An impressive first-up winner, Archie Alexander-trained 3yo filly Loafer is in a very competitive race. A winner of two of her four race starts, Archie believes she will make her presence felt at Metropolitan level.

Loafer wins first-up at Kyneton in November.

While the 1800m journey is at the low end of his distance range, Lukan has trialled well and is ready to get his campaign underway for Mick Price & Michael Kent. He’ll definitely take improvement from Wednesday’s outing, but we expect him to work to the line well on return.

To conclude the card, Belthil will carry top weight in the 1500m BM64. Andrew Bobbin, his trainer, was nonplussed following the gelding’s last effort, but third-up, he expects him to show the form that has enabled him to win 5 of his 17 starts.

We’re looking forward to having a lot of happy owners at Caulfield as the sun sits over the Heath track.
