Aloisia headlines our three Saturday runners

OTI have three very exciting runners on Saturday, headlined by Aloisia who was a very close 2nd in the Group 1 JJ Atkins in her last start. Angelic Spirit steps out for the first time in city class at Caulfield and Kellstorm returns to Morphettville in an attempt to make it four on the trot in SA.

In race 1 over 1400m at Caulfield on Saturday at 12 pm, we see Aloisia return following a well-earned spell in the sunshine state. Ciaron Maher has carefully mapped out this girl’s spring program, and he couldn’t be happier with the way Aloisia heads back to the track on Sat. The 3YO daughter of Azamour has matured nicely since her gallant display at Doomben in June.  Although she’s not the tallest, she makes up for her short stature in pure talent. Saturday’s task seems to be well suited, and following a strong trial against a field of Group 1 winners, we hope to see her blistering turn-of-foot down the home straight. As this is her first-up run for the preparation, Aloisia will take much improvement from this run. All going well, later this preparation we hope to see Aloisia in the Group 1 Kennedy Oaks.

Angelic Spirit steps up to city class in race 2 over 1600m at Caulfield. Trent Busuttin has always been quite bullish about this filly’s raw ability and feels she is ready for Saturday’s task. With a very limited racing career of 3 starts for 2 wins and a 6th (due to lameness following the race), we are very excited to have this girl in the city already and predict a bright future. Although this young kiwi still has much to learn, we hope to see her crossing the line strongly.

Morphettville has provided Kellstorm with 3 straight wins over 2500m in the last 10 weeks. He is a horse that appreciates a soft-heavy track and tomorrow’s predicted soft surface should see this handsome son of Galileo have every chance to run down his opponents down the straight. Although this race is a touch shorter, 2400m, Kellstorm should still be very competitive against some familiar faces.

From everyone at OTI, we wish all of the connections the best of luck!
