It was a weekend to savour for OTI owners, with five winners across three countries delivering excitement and reinforcing the depth of talent currently in the team.
The success began in New Zealand, where Aksil laid a strong claim for the Group 1 New Zealand Derby in five weeks’ time. He was an authoritative winner at Ellerslie, showing the class and progression expected of a genuine Classic contender.

Later in the day at Newcastle, Jagerbomb announced himself as a potential Group 1 Australian Derby prospect with an impressive first-up victory over 1400m. Trainers John O’Shea and Tom Charlton believe he possesses both the talent and the pedigree to stretch out to Classic distances as his preparation unfolds.

In France, the early hours of Sunday morning brought further delight when Annabel’s Ghost returned to form in emphatic fashion, winning over 3200m at Chantilly. Trained by André Fabre, the gelding produced an exciting performance, with his young apprentice rider weaving her way through the field over the final 300m to score a welcome victory.

Back in Australia, Kazaru strengthened her credentials as a Listed Tasmanian Oaks contender with a strong-finishing win over 1717m at Sale. Already a stakes performer, it was particularly pleasing to see her charging through the line for her first career victory.

Rounding out the weekend was Tophet, now in the care of Matt Dunn at Murwillumbah in New South Wales. He made light work of his opposition over 1100m at his home track, delivering a dominant performance that delighted his connections.
