Every now and then, a young horse comes along whose movement, physical attributes and pedigree give us the confidence to get involved before they reach the racetrack. Zuri is one of those horses.
A beautifully athletic filly with an effortless action, Zuri is by the Group 1-producing sire Galiway and comes from an established Group-performing European family. Her pedigree includes Group 1 winner Zulu Kingdom, a half-brother to this filly’s dam, as well as OTI’s own stakes performer Zulu Chant.
Zuri will be prepared in France by legendary trainer André Fabre, who knows the family very well. Having personally inspected the filly, André described her as “very attractive and athletic” and was delighted to get her into the stable.
OTI has enjoyed considerable success buying quality horses at this stage of their development, including future Group 1 winners Docklands, Lady Laguna, Femminile and Quick Thinker.
We like what we see, our trainer likes what he sees, and limited opportunities are now available to join her at this early stage.
