This yearling filly by Iffraaj, out of the mare Height of Summer, is a most showy type. Her vivid colouring matches her talent. She walks with a long stride, canters effortlessly and appears extremely well winded. She has a relaxed temperament.
What If is by Iffraaj. Iffraaj was the leading two-year sire in New Zealand last year. He is a Group 1 producing sire, with sons Gingernuts, Jon Snow and Turn Me Loose. Iffraaj has shown that in both Europe and Australia he can produce horses that run from 1400m to the Derby distance. He appears to have an equal number of females and males capable of performing at the top level.
This filly has a classically female side to match her strong sire line. The filly’s dam, Height of Summer, is a half-sister to the Group 1 winner I’m a Dreamer. She also has another Stakes winning brother, Moudez. Her second dam includes Tiberian. He will come to Australia as one of the chances for this year’s Melbourne Cup.
Stakes performance will make What If a most valuable broodmare.
Antoine de Watrigant will train What If from his stable in Mont de Marsan. Antoine has worked with OTI over the past few years to produce horses like Araaja and Gailo Chop. A small stable in size, his communication and horsemanship is first-class. We have no hesitation in having him train such an exciting youngster.
At the conclusion of her three-year-old season, all owners will have the option to commence a breeding program with What If, or to trade her. Decisions can be made at that time, dependant on her commercial value.
