“He’ll be running up as an autumn 2yo over 1200m and based on what I’ve seen of him he’ll be winning races very very quickly ” – Trent Busuttin
We are delighted to offer this precocious 2yo son of Charm Spirit who we purchased with Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young in New Zealand.
The gelding has impressed since arriving at their stable just over five weeks ago, with Trent and Natalie giving him a glowing assessment. Trent commented that they couldn’t speak highly enough of him and that his work was outstanding. Watch Trent Busuttin’s thoughts on the 2yo below.
KEY FEATURES:
- Standing at just under 16hh, he is strongly built, with a well-balanced action. He has excellent drive from behind, indicating that he will be most capable over sprinting journeys, although it would not surprise to see him at 1600m in time. Watch footage of him parading below.
- Under no pressure in his breeze up and on a track rated slow, he was able to break 11 seconds comfortably. Watch his eye-catching breeze up below.
- The Invincible Spirit x Volksraad mix, makes him a most attractive acquisition. The gelding’s dam, Viviane has already produced G3 winner Cismontane, as well as five other winners. Her stock has continued to be precocious on the track. The gelding’s 2nd dam, Eustaci, has also been a quality producer.
- Key judges we relied upon in New Zealand, including Phill Cataldo, Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young, rated the horse at a value well beyond his purchase price. We were all delightfully surprised to buy him at such an attractive value. Importantly, he vetted out cleanly.
- Riverrock Farm, who prepared the gelding for sale, said “He’s a determined, kind and cool horse. He’s a strong type with strong gaskins, built for speed and his sire keeps producing stakes winners. He’s a competitive horse that loves his work”.
- The strength of this gelding indicates he will be a relatively early runner. We can expect to see him racing in the autumn, with a view to being assessed for his 3yo spring. Ideally, his first campaign will show if he is a Guineas prospect.
- Under no pressure in his breeze up and on a track rated slow, he was able to break 11 seconds comfortably. You’ll find footage of his breeze up below.
With all costs, including insurance, paid to the end of his 2yo season (July 31, 2021), a 5% interest will cost $5,820 plus GST. Given he should race as a 2yo, this offer gives his new owners the potential to be earning stakes money before any further payment is required.
