King Edward

The White Queen

Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr (Cranbourne)

2yo colt

Purchased as a weanling by Phill Cataldo in New Zealand in May 2021 and recently broken in under the direction of the Price/Kent Stable, this Vadamos colt presents as a high-quality middle-distance prospect.

Since his purchase, the colt has impressed all who have been involved in his early education. As you note in the below video, his educator John Ledger (who has educated most of Mick Price’s horses for 18 years) was most complimentary of his strength, athleticism, and temperament.

Given the physique and attitude of this fellow, he is likely to be an early runner for the Vadamos breed. Currently spelling, he’ll return to work in time to have a stable experience with Price/Kent in September. Not likely to get to the races before Christmas, the plan is for him to race early in the New Year with the view of being ready for the 1400m and 1600m 2yo races.

We were always keen for this quality colt to be placed with a top stable. Clearly there are few better in Australia with these sorts of horses than Mick Price and Michael Kent, who now have their base at the Cranbourne Training Centre.

Unlike a yearling purchased direct from a sale, his new owners have the knowledge that he can run and, saving injury, will win races. Clearly it is too early to say what level he will reach, however all horsemen who have been involved with his education so far consider him an exciting talent.
