Angelic Spirit

Occasionally horses with no more than their superior ability are referred to us for purchase. Such is the case with this 2yo filly by Echoes Of Heaven, out of the Centaine mare – Sweet Bourbon.

Horses like Gailo Chop, Stone Warrior, Night’s Watch and indeed the Melbourne Cup winner Doriemus were all horses that had little to recommend them than their raw ability.  All of them are or were natural athletes capable of producing quick sectional times.  None of them had pedigrees to recommend.  This filly fits the characteristics of such horses. 

This horse has been placed with Trent Busuttin and his partner Natalie Young.  Trent and Natalie have recently opened stables at Cranbourne, following a most successful career in NZ.  Over the 2015/16 season, he had an incredible strike rate of 18%.

At this stage of her career, the Echoes of Heaven filly has only had one trial – an official one at Foxton (NZ) on December 13, 2016.  That trial was most impressive and we acquired her once we completed other key assessments of her potential ability.   Vision of her trial, along with an overview of OTI’s thoughts on her, can be viewed below:

In summary, this filly has characteristics that show her to be a racehorse with precocious talent. 

Although it is early days, we would expect this filly to be prepared for races like the Thousand Guineas and VRC Oaks.  Again, these races are Trent’s speciality, so we can be assured she will be given every opportunity to reach those targets.
