The Story

PROGRESSIVE 3YO – READY TO WIN

We are delighted to offer shares in the ready-to-win proposition, Soundwave, an exciting three-year-old gelding by leading New Zealand sire Contributer.

In his only three starts in Australia (two 2nd’s and a 4th), we’ve seen Soundwave show the necessary ability to progress through the grades from 1200m-2000m. His most recent 2nd on June 29 highlights his talent, turn of foot and continued improvement.

Immediate Racing Opportunity

With luck, we expect to see Soundwave win his next start (scheduled for July 20). Following his next start, he is expected to stay in work for at least an additional run. He will then have laid the foundation to progress to city class in his four-year-old year. As an honest, progressive galloper with plenty of scope for further improvement, his plans would be directed towards a late spring campaign.

Background, The Horse & His Pedigree

Purchased by OTI following a series of encouraging performances in New Zealand in 2025, Soundwave was placed with Emma-Lee and David Browne at Pakenham. Upon arriving in Australia late last year, the Browne’s recommended a patient approach, believing the horse would benefit from time to mature physically and mentally. That decision is now paying dividends.

Soundwave is by top New Zealand stallion Contributer and is the first foal out of Melodious, a full sister to Group 3 winner Quattro and multiple other winners.

His pedigree suggests he will continue improving with maturity and should comfortably run a strong 1600m–2000m during his three and four-year-old seasons. Everything we have seen so far indicates he is following that pattern.

Opportunities

Shares are available at $15,400 + GST for 10%, or $7,700 + GST for 5%, including all associated costs + insurance cover to July 31, 2026.

Soundwave offers owners an exciting opportunity to race a progressive young horse with city-class potential.
