With the 3yo filly by El Roca out of Singa Songa, purchased at the November 2023 Ready To Run Sale at Karaka, both Mark Walker and OTI believe we have a filly with the potential to succeed at the top level as a middle distance/staying 3yo and beyond.
Having had several educational preparations at Cranbourne, she is now ready to step things up and is pencilled in for a trial on December 16. Mark is very happy with the way the filly has returned this time in and we look forward to seeing her progress towards a race debut. There looks to be plenty in store for this filly.
OTI has experienced great success with previous purchases out of this sale. G1 winner Vin de Dance is a graduate, as are impressive winners Danxia, Perfumist and Krementz (all also by El Roca). The ability to view the 2yo breeze and to critique its galloping action and behaviour is most beneficial when assessing its future racing potential.
This filly showed herself on parade at Karaka to be a beautiful mover with a generous overstep. She had scope and length to her walk. Her breeze was strong, becoming more fluent the further she ran. An above average 10.74 second sectional for her 200m breeze was considered excellent for an Oaks-style filly. Upon physical inspection from within the Westbury Stud draft, she was well conformed, with little to fault in her physique.
Mark Walker is delighted to be training the filly from his Cranbourne base. Mark, who owns Te Akau Racing in partnership, has an enviable training record. He has overseen the careers of many champions, most identifiable by the ‘orange tsunami’ colours well known in racing circles. Mark is most excited to have the OTI silks in his yard.
