On the back of some promising form from our NZ-based three-year-old sons of Redwood, Romancer and Night’s Watch, OTI purchased this nicely bred two-year-old filly. She has joined the Archie Alexander stable at Ballarat.  Since her arrival in early December, she has delighted both Archie and his riders with her mental attitude and galloping action. She is now poised to undertake a full race preparation.

The filly is out of the Centaine mare, Cent To Win.  Centaine, as a broodmare sire, has over 50 stakes winners to his name, 11 of which are at Group 1 level.  Three of the Group 1 winners are out of Sadler’s Wells line stallions like Redwood (Linton, Vision And Power and Amalfi), so the bloodline cross is more than proven.

The dam side of Cent To Win is very strong.  This filly is closely related to Mongolian Khan, a Caulfield Cup winner in 2015.  Super Fit, a star within Hong Kong racing with 10 wins overall including their Derby, is also in her bloodlines.    Rounding out an impressive pedigree are Young Centaur and Regal Krona, both Group 1 Cup winners in NZ.

With 11 winners in the December/January period, Archie is proving that he has honed his processes to now be at the top of his game.  His task has been immeasurably enhanced with the support of his fiancée Annie Bowles and a great team.

This filly is currently in full training and it is planned for her to have her first jump out / trial around the middle of February.  It will be at that time that we will be able to establish whether or not she is ready to head for some autumn two-year-old racing.

Given her staying pedigree, we are not expecting to see the best of her until her three-year-old year.  As with all staying fillies, we view her as an Oaks type for the spring.
