This stylish colt is closely related to Pasadena Girl and will be trained by this year’s Colin Alderson Award winner – Archie Alexander.
By Dalghar, an emerging sire, the colt looks set to furnish into a 3YO classics type. A son of speed sire, Anabaa, Dalghar broke the Lonchamp 1400M track record during his undefeated 3YO season. He stands in New Zealand and has already produced the outstanding Group 1 filly, Astara.
The colt’s dam is the Green Desert mare, Real Pzazz, who has produced the smart gallopers’ Renewed Vitality and Nina From Pasadena. Nina From Pasadena would continue her success in the breeding barn via her daughter, Pasadena Girl.
The colt’s trainer, Archie Alexander, said of the horse, “he’s a classic type of horse who’s going to be in his prime as a 3YO and beyond. Based on his page, the deeds of Pasadena Girl and the style of horse, this colt will hopefully flourish into a 3YO classics type.
Archie Alexander has been training for just on two years but is certainly making his mark. In 2017, he has gone from strength-to-strength and is one of Victoria’s leading trainers boasting an impressive strike rate of 21.5%.
Based at Ballarat, Alexander has access to the best possible training facilities. The long, uphill straight sand track is tremendous for conditioning horses and the stables are equipped with all the modern resources (treadmill, pool, etc.)
Since being purchased the colt was broken-in in New Zealand. In late June, he arrived at Archie Alexander’s stables in Ballarat. Since then, Archie has been incredibly impressed by his work and is bullish about his prospects as a two-year-old in the Autumn.
The colt’s breeding page suggests he will have no issue getting out to 1600m and beyond. We are confident he will flourish into a lovely 3YO. Alexander described him as a “Guineas/Derby type” and he will be given every opportunity to head in this direction.
