OTI is delighted to offer an exciting 2yo filly purchased out of the New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale. She is by Reliable Man, the same sire as 2019 VRC Oaks winner, Miami Bound. We hold similar aspirations for her future.
The characteristics that led us to acquire her were:
- OTI has had great success in recent years purchasing NZ-bred fillies, such as G1 winner Aloisia, So Far Sokool and recently, Hasstobegood.
- In preparation for the Ready-to-Run sale in New Zealand, she breezed-up her 200m in 11.06 secs, displaying effortless action.
- By Reliable Man, a rising star in the stallion ranks with staying type horses in both hemispheres.
- Out of the Zabeel mare, Lazulia, who descends from G1 winning mare, Skating. Zabeel is the pre-eminent broodmare stallion in New Zealand for staying horses.
- Success on the racetrack should underpin a lucrative broodmare value.
- Favourable assessment of her trainers, vets & OTI’s New Zealand agent Phill Cataldo.
- At $6,900 plus GST for 5%, the filly is a most attractive proposition.
The filly will be trained by Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young, who quickly secured 50% for their clients post-purchase. From their Cranbourne training complex, Trent & Natalie have had a most successful 2019/20 season to date, currently sitting 5th on the Victorian Trainers Premiership. They have a proven record with younger horses, such as Derby winners Sangster and Tavago, as well as their Spring G2 winning filly, Acting.
