Our globetrotting star, Docklands, embarks on another exciting challenge this Sunday when he contests the Longines Group 1 Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin.
Since travelling from Japan just over a week ago, the horse has thrived. Harry Eustace and his team have been delighted with the way he has coped with travel and the manner in which he continues to work. He is enthusiastic, free in his action and gives every sign he is thoroughly enjoying his racing.
Sunday’s race, while perhaps a touch easier than the Champions Mile in Japan, still presents a significant test. However, a good barrier draw, a suitable surface and the services of Tom Marquand should give him every chance to feature strongly and further enhance his already impressive credentials.
Docklands’ owners, who have continued to follow him on his racing journey, will again be there on Sunday. Like the horse, they are relishing the experience that racing on the global stage provides.
